Visit to Ubeda
Úbeda is one of the best examples of the Spanish Renaissance. It is the place where noble families such as Francisco de los Cobos, secretary of the Emperor Carlos V and great patron in his hometown, were born. We will go for a walk through the Plaza Vázquez de Molina in which we will find large architectural constructions, most of them made by Andrés de Vandelvira, the most genuine architect of the Renascence of the province.
Monumental works such as el Palacio Vázquez de Molina, la Colegiata de Santa María de los Reales Alcázares, la Casa del Obispo, el Palacio de los Mancera, el Antiguo Pósito, and el Palacio del Deán Fermando Ortega which will lead us visually to the most important building in the square: la sacra capilla del Salvador. It is a funeral chapell which belongs to the Cobos family.
Since this large monumental square, we will visit other two small squares with charm enough: Plaza 1º de Mayo with el Balcón del Concejo and la Iglesia de San Pablo; and la Plaza de los Caidos with el Palacio de Francisco de los Cobos and la Alfareria de Tito.
